Connected Conversations World Relay for UN75

X360 fast-track video briefing sessions

We are excited to announce a new partnership for OFU20, the Connected Conversations World Relay for UN75.

The World Relay will be a worldwide, rolling program of 2-hour Conversation Café style sessions, choreographed to link across time-zones running on Saturday, October 24, United Nations Day.

It is a 2020 pop-up program in support of UN75 – the world’s biggest conversation. In a year of global crisis the UN has called for institutional and citizen dialogues. The aim for this World Relay is to draw together, facilitate and support the public-purpose community in responding and contributing to moving forward from the crises of 2020.

The Connected Conversations Relay also aims to demonstrate to government & public institutions that grassroots conversation can make a valued contribution to shaping new ways forward. We hope that facilitators everywhere will find new experience and value in proactively getting involved. This really is a chance for the facilitation community to show what we can do together!

We believe this event collaboration will add value for OFU20 attendees in several ways:

  • A chance for you to “actually do” online facilitation as part of the OFU20 event by working on a real-world project, with instructions and tool recommendations being provided and with the support of a coordinating team
  • The opportunity for you to maintain and create new relationships with clients and collaborators in the public-purpose space, by offering this event as an opportunity to have an impact.

Obviously, it also brings the potential for new skills, new connections and simply having fun!

Start your World Relay journey!

To kick-start the Relay countdown, the coordinating team at X360 are hosting two fast-track video briefing sessions in collaboration with OFU for anyone who is enthusiastic about hosting a Relay conversation event within the global program on October 24. These sessions will be held on:

  • Thursday September 24 from 5–6pm UTC (10-11am Pacific Time) Thursday, October 1 from 2–3pm UTC (7–8am Pacific)
  • Wednesday October 6 from 5–6pm UTC (10-11am Pacific Time)

We want to enable keen hosts and facilitators to fast-track their Relay conversation event planning and also to get the special benefit of being supported by the worldwide crew during the lead-up to the global event.

Depending on how things go, we may add a follow-up session as part of the unconference, likely to be held the day following the Relay, Sunday, October 25. Stay tuned for details over the coming week (but feel free to buy your tickets today).
