Join the OFU 2026 team
We're hiring three key roles to help make OFU 2026 our biggest and most impactful Unconference yet. Each role comes with real ownership, a tight-knit team, and meaningful upside.
Sponsor Liaison
Role Purpose
The Sponsor Liaison is responsible for securing the financial sustainability of OFU 2026 by building creative, high-value relationships with companies. Our goal this year is a "big leap" in revenue; this role moves away from static logo placement toward "Creative Integration" where sponsors contribute meaningfully to the participant experience.
Areas of Ownership
- Pipeline Management: Identifying, pitching, and closing sponsorship deals with companies (Tech, HR, L&D, etc.).
- Creative Integration Design: Collaborating with sponsors to design how their services, tools, or "swag" appear within the virtual event environment.
- End-to-End Relationship: Owning the sponsor journey from the first "hello" through to the post-event impact report.
- Value Delivery: Ensuring every promise made to a sponsor is executed perfectly during the event.
Key Success Milestones
- May: 10 initial sponsors secured by launch.
- July: 50% of revenue target secured.
- October: Seamless execution of sponsor integrations during the Unconference.
- January: Delivery of final impact reports and "Early Bird" renewal conversations for 2027.
Skills & Competencies
- Commercial Creativity: Ability to see beyond a "logo on a slide" and design integrations that facilitators actually enjoy.
- Relational Sales: Professional and clear communicator who builds trust quickly without using "hard-sell" tactics.
- Virtual Event Literacy: Understanding of how sponsors can show up effectively in a digital-first facilitation environment.
Compensation & Success Incentives
- Direct Incentive: A percentage (15%) of all gross sponsorship revenue brought in.
- Profit Share: A tiered percentage (up to 10%) of the total net surplus of the 2026 event (triggered once a minimum "survival floor" is met).
Partner Liaison
Role Purpose
The Partner Liaison builds the "Reputation Network" of OFU. By aligning with non-profit associations and community groups, you provide the legitimacy and "word-of-mouth" reach necessary to hit our participation goals. You handle the relationships that provide reach and credibility, rather than direct cash.
Areas of Ownership
- Ecosystem Mapping: Identifying and securing formal partnerships with non-profit organizations and facilitation associations.
- Access & Promotion: Negotiating and ensuring partners promote OFU to their membership via newsletters, social media, and dedicated blasts.
- Partner Care: Managing the reputation of the partners within our community, ensuring they feel valued and "seen" as key supporters.
- Tracking & Attribution: Working with the team to ensure we know exactly which partners are driving ticket sales.
Key Success Milestones
- May: 25 key non-profit partners signed and ready for the public launch.
- June – September: Regular "Partner Pulses" ensuring they are sharing our content and tracking links.
- October: Hosting "Partner Recognition" moments during the event.
- January: Relationship "Check-ins" to share event outcomes and solidify long-term alliance.
Skills & Competencies
- Community Diplomacy: Ability to navigate the nuances of non-profit associations and professional bodies.
- Asset Coordination: Ensuring partners have everything they need to be successful advocates for us.
- Facilitation Heart: Deep understanding of the global facilitation landscape and where the "pockets" of community live.
Compensation & Success Incentives
- Direct Incentive: A commission (15%) per paid ticket sold via partner-attributed links.
- Profit Share: A tiered percentage (up to 10%) of the total net surplus of the 2026 event (as a reward for building the brand's long-term reputation).
Marketing Lead
Role Purpose
The Marketing Lead is the engine of our "big leap" in participation. Your job is to find "new eyes" (professionals who don't know us yet) and tell the OFU story in a way that converts interest into paid tickets. You own the narrative, the funnel, and the post-event storytelling.
Areas of Ownership
- Audience Growth: Identifying and reaching new segments (L&D, HR, Educators) via organic and community-led marketing.
- Narrative & Copy: Writing the newsletters, social posts, and website copy that reflect the OFU personality.
- Branding & Visuals: Ensuring our visual identity and communications are professional, inviting, and consistent.
- Post-Event Storytelling: Owning the 3-month follow-up phase where we share the "magic" of what happened to build momentum for next year.
Key Success Milestones
- May: Launch campaign live with a clear "hook" for the 2026 theme (once defined).
- August: "Final Push" strategy implemented to reach the registration ceiling.
- October: Real-time social storytelling during the event.
- January: Completion of the "Impact & Stories" series post-event.
Skills & Competencies
- Growth Mindset: Expert at organic reach and conversion without relying solely on high ad-spend.
- Storytelling: Ability to take the "Unconference" concept and theme and make it sound essential to a newcomer.
- Strategic Autonomy: You decide the "where" and "how" of our marketing, bringing your plan to the all-hands for alignment.
Compensation & Success Incentives
- Fixed Base: A monthly retainer / base fee of $500 for professional services from May through January.
- Performance Bonus: A tiered percentage (up to 10%) of total net surplus.
